Martial Arts Championships, part of Sydney Mardi Gras 2024. In the spirit of building an LGBTIQA+global Martial Arts community, the MGMA Championships will offer a multi-style Martial Arts Tournament to promote sporting excellence in the Martial Arts, and development of Self Defence and Safety Skills.
LGBTIQA+ pioneer and Tournament Director Penny Gulliver - 6th Dan Black Belt and Chief Instructor GLMA Martial Arts - founded the championships to welcome the global sporting village to Sydney as part of Mardi Gras 2025. This exciting and innovative festival will bring athletes, artists, ideas and energy from around the world together in the southern hemisphere.
The Tournament is FREE to come as a spectator and $100 to enter as a participant with unlimited entries to divisions you qualify for!

*While some of the competitive divisions are separated by gender in many categories, all members of the LGBTQIA+ community- and allies are welcome to participate in all experience, age, (will be sorted after registration ) qualifying categories and may self-identify and sign up to participate in the divisions that fit and work for them and they feel comfortable in.
Rules & Categories
Rules and categories will be organised with the guidelines of The International Association of Gay and Lesbian Martial Artists [IAGLMA] www.iaglma.org -- the organisation that traditionally runs the Martial Arts Events at The Gay Games since the 1980s.
